Sean’s Story

Sean Hubbard first started attending East Side Club in middle school after being invited by his best friend. He stopped by just to “check it out” but ended up staying all day and kept coming back through graduation. Sean remembers not wanting to leave – he’d get caught up hanging out with friends, talking with mentors, and taking advantage of all the opportunities the Club provided. He often thinks back to the mentors who checked in on him, encouraged him to get involved, and inspired him to give back to his community.

Today, Sean remains connected to the Clubs, most recently through a connection that led to his new role as a Field Engineer with Mortenson. Just a couple of weeks into the job, he’s already contributing to projects with the Minnesota Twins. Sean has also returned to speak with current Club members about careers in engineering, reminding them that while pursuing your dreams takes hard work, the results are worth it. He hopes to continue inspiring youth to reach their goals – just as his mentors once inspired him.
