In 2026, BGCTC launched a new medical career event series in partnership with Gillette Children’s Hospital, opening doors for teens to explore a wide range of healthcare career possibilities.
Through a series of visits, teens explored multiple areas of the healthcare system, including inpatient care, social work, marketing and communications, and more. Each teen gained a deeper understanding of the many roles needed to support children and families within a hospital system. They connected directly with professionals, asked questions, and experienced firsthand the multifaceted healthcare roles available for future careers.
For many young people, career exploration begins with one powerful moment: walking into a space, meeting someone who believes in them, and realizing, “I could see myself here.”
“Before this experience, I didn’t even know things like sleep studies and spiritual support were part of healthcare. It’s amazing how many opportunities are out there. I’ve learned so much.” – John (Club Teen)
Experiences like this do more than introduce teens to jobs. They expand what young people believe is possible for their lives. They help teens imagine themselves in rooms, careers, and futures they may never have considered before.
