At the clubs, we know the importance of learning through play and strive to provide exciting, hands-on activities to make learning fun! This summer, the youth at our Jerry Gamble club had a blast working on their sight word recognition by swatting sight words and fishing for words together. The youth read their words as they collected them and then created their own sentences.
Grades K-8 Reading and Literacy Enrichment* – small group reading instruction and literacy enrichment stations to teach phonics, spelling, language structure, reading fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. Utilizing Sonday System reading program (a Winsor Learning, Orton Gillingham-based reading intervention curriculum) for members who have been assessed as needing focused reading support. *Expanded to grades 6-8 September 2021
