The Williams* family is just one example of how BGCTC is making a lasting impact on the youth and families we serve. Tyler, Zain, and Nick*, in Kindergarten, 4th grade, and 5th grade, face the daily challenge of inconsistent home placements and separation from their biological family. The boys recently became Club members to receive support in distance learning and social-emotional skill building.
This fall, BGCTC has not only provided the boys with distance learning and social-emotional support; we have provided critical resources during the COVID-19 pandemic, weekend meal support, frequent check-ins with their school teachers, and consistent relationships that they otherwise would not have outside of the Club environment.
Ceejay Jackson, Branch Director, has noticed that the boys have become more comfortable, joyful, and engaged in just a short time attending the Club. They look forward to attending programming each day and have been making new friendships at a time when many young people are isolated from their peers. We are grateful to provide the stability and support their family needs each day!
