Amerin Chamberlin is a recent graduate and Club Alum of Little Earth Club. We recently had the amazing opportunity to catch up with Amerin to hear about his exciting work at the Little Earth Club while pursuing a degree in teaching.
Could you tell us a bit about yourself?
“I like basketball, working at Little Earth Club with little kids, and I love to eat. My favorite food is tater tot casserole and my favorite food to make is French toast.”
What does working at the Club look like for you?
“I love working with the little kids at the Club. I like keeping them active by racing with them, tag, and Just Dance. I also like working with them on STEM projects like airplanes and bridge testing.”
What inspired you to want to teach?
“I always felt comfortable in gym class growing up. I’d also love to be a basketball coach.”
What was your favorite activity in gym growing up?
Just Dance in Elementary, but there is a game I learned in 4th grade called Lightning. Big Base is fun [too] because it gets competitive.
How is school so far?
“I started school at Augsburg in August. We got a week of dorm experience before school started, so I got to meet people and make friends. I am never bored. The classes are well laid out, you really have to focus on your homework. Right now, I’m working on an essay and lots of reading.”
What brings you joy?
“The intensity of competitive basketball brings me joy. Also, being around the younger youth, when I walk in the room and the kids all get excited and shout “Amerin!” It warms my day.”
We’re thrilled to follow Amerin’s academic journey and are grateful to have him on staff at BGCTC, inspiring the next generation as they begin their own journeys to Success Ahead!
