Indigenous State of Mind: BGCTC Youth Leading the Mental Wellness Conversation

Last fall, the Little Earth Boys & Girls Club premiered Indigenous State of Mind: A Mental Health Awareness Film—a powerful short film created by Club members and staff. This captivating documentary sheds light on the importance of mental health awareness, amplifies the voices of Indigenous youth, and fosters open, honest conversations about mental health challenges and the need for support.

Since its debut, Indigenous State of Mind has been shown at six local high schools and two colleges, with future screenings currently in the works. Each screening is followed by a panel discussion, offering a space for meaningful dialogue, shared experiences, and healing—making the impact of the film even greater.

By breaking the silence around mental health, this film is empowering all young people to seek help, support one another, and embrace mental wellness as a vital part of their journey.
