BGCTC is proud to honor Tamara Moore. Not only is Tamara a BGCTC Jerry Gamble Club alum, she’s also a professional basketball player who competed in the WNBA and Europe. She is the first African American women to be named the head coach of a collegiate men’s basketball team. Currently, Tamara is the head coach of the men’s basketball team at Mesabi Range College in Virginia, MN!
Just as she is today, Tamara Moore was a legend when she was a young athlete at the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Twin Cities. Because of TITLE IX, which prohibits sex-based discrimination in any school or any other education program, and her contribution to athletics, we are celebrating Tamara’s legacy by renaming our Healthy Lifestyles program in her honor. Moving forward, every young person that participates in our team sports or engages in healthy lifestyles programming will be a part of the new TAMARA MOORE NO LIMITS PROGRAM.
