Brayden* is transitioning into the fifth grade this fall and has been attending the Boys & Girls Clubs for two years. Brayden distinguished himself this year in the BGCTC Literacy Program! Using the Rock ‘n Read program, an interactive program model to ensure youth can actively engage in reading, Brayden did amazing work to improve his literacy skills!
Brayden embraced the program all year and by the last quarter, he led all Club readers with over 800 minutes read! Since then, Brayden has continued to seek improved reading competence this summer by working one-on-one with one of our VISTA AmeriCorps volunteers. The volunteer works with many Club kids in her sessions and always compliments Brayden’s consistent efforts. Congratulations, Brayden, on your hard work and demonstrated improvement in reading!
