Amelia*, a third grader, began attending the Boys & Girls Club this summer to receive academic support. When Amelia first started attending the Club, she was very shy and reserved. Over time, the Club has brought out her energetic side!
Ms. Kelsey, a staff member, has said that “Amelia is very actively engaged in our literacy and math stations and loves to play all of the educational games. She also enjoys being on the computers, making rubber band bracelets with her friends, and coloring. She has become more confident in speaking in front of the class and in reading since the beginning of summer.” Amelia has made many new friends at the Club and has shown great improvement in her academics.
