Reducing Waste with VEC

At Voyageur Environmental Center (VEC), waste reduction education is a key component of programming, teaching youth the importance of managing the overabundance of waste we produce and empowering them to create more sustainable and equitable solutions.

Waste reduction is a fluid practice across the entire Voyageur facility – from composting in the kitchen to the backyard compost program. Youth are taught about the waste system as well as the different types of garbage, such as plastic, metal, e-waste, glass, paper/cardboard, and organic waste.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle – just one example of how BGCTC’s Voyageur Environmental Center is cultivating the next generation of environmental stewards!
