Gaohli is a Club alumna from East Side and is now a contract photographer for the Clubs!
What inspired you to pursue photography? My dad inspired me to pursue photography. He took photos as a hobby growing up. I liked watching him and seeing the photos he took.
How did the East Side Club support your interest in photography? I had taken a photography course, but it felt rushed, and I didn’t find a creative edge. I started taking photos of the volleyball team and it helped me start learning how to program cameras.
What projects have you been working on for BGCTC? My first project was taking photos at Tailgate at the Taproom. I really enjoyed taking candid photos and seeing how they were reacting in the moment at the event.
What is your goal in pursuing photography? I always thought photography would be a hobby but now I’d like to pursue taking collegiate level sports photos. I am currently in college studying Marketing to be able to understand the business sector more as well as learn how to market myself better.
What is something you are grateful for in 2024? I am grateful for getting to work in a field I never thought I’d have. I’m especially thankful for the East Side directors, I wouldn’t have gotten this far without them.
