Every Spring, BGCTC hosts a Club-wide Spelling Bee! Youth ages K-5 from all Club locations come together to showcase their skills. Clubs spend months beforehand preparing and practicing for the big affair! Spelling is a core competency of literacy, and spelling bees give Club youth a platform to show off the knowledge they have gained through BGCTC’s Literacy Program. It also allows youth to feel proud of their accomplishments and motivate them to work hard on their academic achievements. Families are invited to attend and cheer on kids and their teammates!
This year, after several rounds and lots of excitement, the Mt. Airy Club took home the trophy with a tie for first place!
