The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Twin Cities provide youth with programs to capture their interests, teach valuable skills, and build supportive relationships. Our Club youth are able to grow, learn, and achieve because people just like you believe in them. Please consider donating a gift this holiday season that gives Boys & Girls Club youth a great start to 2017!
We have exciting news to announce this holiday season! A benefactor who recognizes the crucial importance of our programming to help the youth in our community has stepped forward and has agreed to match any and all donations to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Twin Cities – dollar for dollar – up to $50,000 until December 31, 2016!
This match means that we can make an even bigger difference in the lives of our Club members through targeted programs such as our new Literacy Program in partnership with Groves Academy and our Teen Pathways program.
Giving stock held more than 12 months offers a two-fold tax savings. First, you avoid paying capital-gains tax on the increase in value of your stock. In addition, you receive a tax deduction for the full fair market value of the stock on the date of the gift. Subtracting the tax savings from what you originally paid for the stock can result in a gift that costs just pennies on the dollar. This is an excellent vehicle for stock that has appreciated substantially in value.
