How you can serve:

Small Group Volunteer Projects (Club program projects)

For the safety of our youth and out of respect to our staffing patterns, we limit the number of group volunteers in the range of 2 to 15 per event at the Jerry Gamble Club, Al Lenzmeier West Side Club, Mt. Airy Club and our East Side Club. In general, we prefer to limit our groups to 2-5 volunteers per event at our Southside Village Club, but there are exceptions depending upon specific needs/activities.

Contact Haile Tegegne at htegegne@bgc-tc.org with project interest, dates available, times available, club location of interest and number of volunteer planning to come for the project.

Large Group Volunteer Projects (facilities projects)

The maximum group size for this type of volunteer event varies per project, but generally, we cannot accommodate groups larger than 25 and prefer groups at 15 or less (Voyageur Environmental Center can accommodate groups at 25 or less). Large group projects are available at our Jerry Gamble Club, Al Lenzmeier West Side Club, Mt. Airy Club and our East Side Club and normally involve landscaping, cleaning, building or other similar activities.

Individual Volunteer Opportunities (Club programs and activities)

Individual volunteer activities and projects are available at all of our Club locations and Voyageur Environmental Center. Most programs and activities are scheduled for a 1-3 hour time block during weekday afternoons and evenings during the school year, and 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM during summer months and other school release days. For the safety of the youth we serve, the Club requires individuals to complete a volunteer application and background check.

Group Placement

Although we realize it is not always feasible, we prefer to have at least three weeks notice prior to your desired date for your group’s volunteer event. This allows adequate time to coordinate details with the appropriate Club staff to make the event a positive experience for your group, the youth, and staff.
